Dear Maintainer,
             I was trying to run glxgears and got the following :-

$ glxgears
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
glxgears: ../../../../../src/mesa/swrast/s_renderbuffer.c:584:
map_attachment: Assertion `srb->Map' failed.
Aborted

This has happened recently as I used to be able to run glxgears
without an issue before. Have no idea who or what is responsible for
the assertion it's showing. I have experienced this assertion recently
in other apps. and games as well.

reassign 721083 libgl1-mesa-dri 9.1.6-2
kthxbye

Looks like the assertion fails in swrast_dri.so (if you had 3D hardware
acceleration before, you might want to look into why you no longer do),
reassigning.

Dear Michel, first of all thank you for replying so promptly as well
as thanx for reassigning to the proper package.

I'm on an intel integrated graphics card . I was able to run
gnome-shell or run various games and programs without this assertion
before. Am totally clueless as to what could have gone wrong.

$ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82G33/G31 Express
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 10)

The processor is a dual-core E5400 @ 2.70GHz (45nm SOC) .

Please lemme know if anything I can do to help or at least pinpoint the issue.

We are sorry, your game of Dawn crashed.

To help us debug the problem and make Dawn more stable, give the
following lines to the developers of Dawn, please.
The developers of Dawn can be reached on
https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/dawn-rpg or in #dawn-rpg at
Freenode.
If possible add some text what you were doing when the game crashed or
how the crash can be reproduced.
Try to add the last line of the previous output (something from before
'converting the following backtrace') as well.

Thank you very much for your help!

this is game which I used to play for hrs. and they were people
bringing it to debian. Please check debian-devel-games this month's
archives.

Hopefully this crasher gives some more info. If any -dbg packages need
to be involved please lemme know.

Hi all,
A workaround shared at
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linuxquestions-org-member-success-stories-23/solved-poor-video-quality-in-arch-after-updating-intel-drivers-4175457981/

I did the same workaround i.e.

/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d$ cat 20-intel.conf
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "AccelMethod" "sna"

Made it. Went to some $tty and did a /etc/init.d/gdm3 restart and now
have no more assertions. At end, it seems it's intel crappy drivers
who are to blame.

Please lemme know if any more info. or anything is needed to be done at my end.

Dear Shirish,

I got the same error when starting stellarium as you:
stellarium: ../../../../../src/mesa/swrast/s_renderbuffer.c:584:
map_attachment: Assertion `srb->Map' failed.

$ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Atom Processor
D4xx/D5xx/N4xx/N5xx Integrated Graphics Controller

Thanks a lot for sharing your workaround, it seems to work.

Regards,
Edi
