in /usr/share/acpi-support/screenblank is a big switch to detect & use the installed screenserver. it provides a hardcoded priority list in case several screenservers are avaiable. i love the screen to be locked when suspending but i would prefere a way where the screenlock package maintainer can provide the logic how to trigger the screenlock and include this in the "Debian alternatives system". the problem hit me cause i installed i3lock (and dropped xtrlock) and lost the feature.
I think this is beyond the scope of acpi-support. An alternative system could be implemented by the different screensave packages bt not by a package just happening to use the screen savers. Michael
Hi Michael, yes, for sure you are right but a script like yours make it visible why that's a good idea. and acpi-support could be the starting point for for the implementation. is is possible to add the other packages to this "wish" as a list? or shall i first of all create wishes against all other packages seen in your script? regards, michael
