Hi,

it would be nice if you could split out calibre-server into its own
binary package to avoid the qt depends when i just want to run a
headless calibre-server instance on my server, and, add an initscript
for it.

This would require rewriting the entire upstream program, since they
aren't separate applications. They are a single intertwined codebase
which has multiple entry stubs.

Also, the content server uses qt, so you're not getting rid of that anyway.
