Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading my Debian Wheezy to Jessie , i found my gnome-terminal with
black background.
When I wanted to change the background in my Profile preferences, the option
was no longer available.

I downgraded gnome-terminal package to the version in stable, and the
background option was back.

I didn't find others problems.

Hi,

there is a report bug on gnome-terminal bugzilla about the background
option where a dev said "no." to the question "Can you get back
background option available?" ...

I'm now using XFCE-terminal and you have a background option. So I think
the best thing to do is to install this shell.

Could you please give me that bugzilla's bug ?

I know that for background transparency option not with background color.

Since I have background color option using gnome-terminal-3.10.1-1.

try right click over gnome-terminal -> profiles -> profile preferences ->
(tab) colours -> background colour

Transparency was indeed removed from official gnome-terminal.

A patch to bring it back is available at
https://code.launchpad.net/~larsu/gnome-terminal/update-restore-transparency-patch
