   * What led up to the situation?
 Updateing my SID to the newest (after not bothering with updates for at least
3 months) broke either the xorg intel package or the i915 module as it no
longer detectes the HDMI port. HDMI port was available an usable
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade
   * What was the outcome of this action?
no HDMI port detected
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
HDMI port detected and functioning
