--- Please enter the report below this line. --- On startup, kwatchgnupg adds the following lines to ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf: ###+++--- GPGConf ---+++### utf8-strings debug-level basic log-file socket:///home/zing/.gnupg/log-socket ###+++--- GPGConf ---+++### Fri 06 Dec 2013 07:17:02 PM CET # GPGConf edited this configuration file. # It will disable options before this marked block, but it will # never change anything below these lines. Since these entries are not valid for gpg.conf, gpg stops working after kwatchgnupg is started. Removing the erraneous text (obviously) fixes gpg. Steps to reproduce: 1) Verify that gpg can start up: gpg -k [normal program output] 2) Run kwatchgnupg 3) Run gpg again: gpg -k gpg: /home/user/.gnupg/gpg.conf:137: argument not expected gpg: /home/user/.gnupg/gpg.conf:138: invalid option This happens everytime kwatchgnupg starts up (The lines are added only once, though). I guess kwatchgnupg calls gpgconf with incorrect parameters? --- Please enter the report below this line. --- Same behaviour here. Even configuring log levels to 0/none, kwatchgnupg modifies the file ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf and results in a not-working gpg. Stopping gpg-agent, modifying gpg.conf file and starting again gpg-agent also makes kleopatra not-capable to connecto to gpg-agent. The only way I can get both working (gpg and gpg-agent), is movin kwatchgnupg binary making kleopatra incapable to execute it. That behaviour is so annoying cause kmail, i.e., always use kleopatra (and kdepim depends on it) when I click on a gpg-key id and brokes my gpg config (I use kgpg that works with any issues, but always kmail opens kleopatra instead kgpg). Hi,
I have similar problem, in my case it's caused by the fact that Kleoparta
uses gpg instread of gpg2:
gbajson@misio:~/.kde/env$ gpg
gpg: /home/gbajson/.gnupg/gpg.conf:10: argument not expected
gpg: /home/gbajson/.gnupg/gpg.conf:11: invalid option
gbajson@misio:~/.kde/env$ gpg2
gpg: enabled debug flags: memstat
gpg: Go ahead and type your message ...
^C
gpg: signal Interrupt caught ... exiting
The following options are not supported by "gpg".
10 debug-level basic
11 log-file socket:///home/gbajson/.gnupg/log-socket
