I'm searching for a tool for that the end user can "format" a usb stick (usb
flash drive) in the desktop. I think that both Gnome and KDE have these tool.
But I not find one for other lightweight environments like Xfce or LXDE... I

http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages ...

Now I find mintstick, a tool written in python and gtk3, that works in Linux
Mint. I try it in Debian Testing and works "more or less" for usb format (in my
system it works only for root or with sudo) :-/. Try it as: sudo mintstick -m
format

I'd like to bring this to Debian. I'm working on filing an ITP (this is my
first time!) and then hopefully we'll see this in Sid soon.

Some of these are old and may not be supported/useful any more.
Some of these may be distro/OS specific,
But hopefully there is one that is being maintained and is generic
enough to replace what the others do so we don't need to maintain all
these things.
