* Package name : fonts-source-code-pro Version : 1.017 Upstream Author : Paul D. Hunt <phunt@adobe.com> * URL : https://github.com/adobe/source-code-pro * License : SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1. Programming Lang: Description : set of fonts designed to work well in GUI environments Source Code Pro is a OpenType fontface from Adobe. A monospaced font well suited for use in terminals and for coding. Special attention have been given to clearly separate commonly confused characters from each other. Only Latin characters are included.
This should possibly be combined with the package fonts-source-sans-pro (bug #736680) under the name fonts-adobe-source.
This package has to go to contrib since it requires the proprietary Adobe ADFKO to build from source.
Hi all, Adobe ADFKO has been released under a free software license (Apache 2.0): http://blog.typekit.com/2014/09/19/new-from-adobe-type-open-sourced-font-development-tools/ So the fonts that build using them (RFPs and ITPs CCed) can now go to Debian main once Adobe ADFKO has been packaged and accepted into Debian main. Anyone want to package it?
> Anyone want to package it? I have had a look at it, and man this is a messy piece of software. I'll see what I can come up with, and report my findings. Ghis
I wrote a Debian package for this font. What is the correct way to submit it?
I put it here https://salsa.debian.org/boris-guest/fonts-source-code-pro
<https://github.com/adobe-fonts/source-code-pro/tree/master>. I only mention this because if you try to follow the old link, you'll end up looking at the release branch with its dizzying array of binaries.
These are separate upstream repositories, so they should to be separate source packages. They both have an open RFS. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=736681 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=750450 My particular interest in fonts-adobe-sourcesans3 is that it is used by the electrum package which I also maintain. I probably will not package any of the other Adobe fonts, but I would encourage anyone else with an interest in them to do so. The OFL license with reserved name is a bit tricky to package, but it can be done in a way that allows inclusion in main. Anyone working on these is welcome to see how I handled it for fonts-adobe-sourcesans3. https://salsa.debian.org/fonts-team/fonts-adobe-sourcesans3/-/tree/master/debian? ref_type=heads
