Hello, I can confirm this bug : synaptic is slow on respond. Here is my system : Linux debian 3.16-2-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.3-2 (2014-09-20) x86_64 GNU/Linux libc6 2.19-11 synaptic 0.81.2 apt 1.0.9.2 libapt-inst1.5 1.0.9.2 libapt-pkg4.12 1.0.9.2 Thanks
Hi, Same behaviour here with an updated testing and GNOME. Curiously, killing "caribou" process allows Synaptic starting fine. Greetings,
Hi, I don't have this bug anymore with recent updates (although my current system hasn't changed regarding this packages : Linux debian 3.16-2-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.3-2 (2014-09-20) x86_64 GNU/Linux libc6 2.19-11 synaptic 0.81.2 apt 1.0.9.2 libapt-inst1.5 1.0.9.2 libapt-pkg4.12 1.0.9.2) Thanks Le 05/10/2014 16:36, Thibaut a écrit :

Hello, Since this morning, with my "testing+stable repositories", the bug has disappeared. Regards,
I can confirm this bug on 2 different systems. Whenever synaptic is doing "anything", the cpu load rises to 100%. On system #1 (the system I am reporting from) everything still "looks and feels" normal, besides the 100% cpu load. The system reponds ok and synaptic still seems to get its jobs done. System #2 is a Beaglebone Black (armhf) and on that system the 100% cpu load makes synaptic totally slow and unresponsive. Even simpliest tasks like "Help / About" takes minutes. The rest of the system (aka other X11 apps) still respond ok.
