Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

If i have my PC and Laptop running (both Debian Jessie) i get "new mails"
reported in an endless loop.
If i use only the laptop or the pc, the messages are only reported once.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

I login KDE and after akonadi checked the mails i get informed about new
mails,
again and again, on both PCs. If i stop akonaid by "akonadictl stop" the
endless loop stops. Also on the other PC where akonaid is still running.

If i restart akonadi, the loop starts again.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

I just want to get informed one time. Not in an endless loop.

Hey,

* What mails are reported to be new?
* Are all mails get notified to be new?
* Can you check/attach your akonadi log. If akonadi fails with syning it
redownloads all messages again and again.
* What imap server you use?
* Do you use offline imap?
* Do you use filters that touch mails?

Regads,

sandro

The mails which are "marked as new" are reported over and over again ...

No, only the last one in the inbox folder marked as new ...
i attached the "notify-log" output from akonadiconsole

I have also a debug log file, but i cannot attach it to this mail. It is about
91 MB in size and it took only seconds to get that big. I dont want to put
this file on a public mailinglist.

akonadiconsole also crashes after a few seconds due to a lot of traffic in the
logs ....

courier-imap (debian wheezy - backports - i tried backports to get rid of that
bug but did not change anything)

Yes!

On which side? I use bogofilter to catch spam on local machine.
Sieve-scripts do the sorting on server side.

Hi,

*sigh* it does not make that much fun reopen bugs like closing them :)

Many thanks for all these informations. We are nearly at the stage to send
this upstream.

All in all I would say, the problem are the local filter bogofilter. 'Cause
this one modfies the mail (adds headers), so akonadi uploads the new content
and the other client sees this "new" mail and reporcess the mail again with
bogofilter.

I would suggest you to disable bogofilter and all local filters, to look if
the issue has gone. Than we are sure, that this bug is related to
bogofilter/local filters.

Hey,

Thanks for searching. I set the bug as forwarded, hopefully this bug will be
