Dear Maintainer,

I pasted scilab code into a new gedit window, creating Unsaved Document 1. The highlighting wasn't automatically detected (desired behavior I assume) so I wanted proper Scilab highighting activated. I selected from the top menu-button: View > Highlight Mode... Searching and selection was working in the pop-up, but after choosing 'Select' (top-right) nothing changed. The statusbar (bottom) still indicated plain-text and so was the Hightlight Mode menu when revisited via the menu-bar. Selection via the statusbar indicator did however turn out to work fine. Having selected Scilab highlighting in this way, the menu via the top menu-botton now showed Scilab as selected as well. Trying to revert highlighting to Plain text (as a test) from the top-menu failed, but it did from the statusbar.
