Hi, scim-pinyin currently doesn't show up in the list of inputs when trying to select between them. It shows up in the SCIM config, though.

During scim startup, a message "std::bad_alloc" is printed when scim-pinyin is installed. When I purge scim-pinyin, this no longer appears:

(with scim-pinyin)
Loading simple Config module ...
Creating backend ...
std::bad_alloc
Loading socket FrontEnd module ...
Starting SCIM as daemon ...
Loading socket Config module ...
Creating backend ...
Loading x11 FrontEnd module ...
GTK Panel of SCIM 1.4.15

(without scim-pinyin)
Loading simple Config module ...
Creating backend ...
Loading socket FrontEnd module ...
Starting SCIM as daemon ...
Loading socket Config module ...
Creating backend ...
Loading x11 FrontEnd module ...
GTK Panel of SCIM 1.4.15

Hmm, scim-pinyin works on another computer (this one) with a very similar setup (as can be seen below in System Information)

Please give me some tips / commands I can run to debug this further...

Hi,

I guess the original bug reporter is not familiar with the Debian BTS
and no one from SCIM maintaining people is interested enough to clean up
BTS.

Just a simple housekeeping ...

FYI: My main interest is ibus and Japanese.
