package: bugs.debian.org Hi, when someone else orphans a package, the maintainers of that package are not automatically notified, as the bug is assigned to the wnpp pseudo-package. Thus maintainers might not learn about this (it's shown in the PTS, so it's not hidden), but there is no active notification which I consider a bug. (And not just a wishlist missing feature ;) cheers, Holger
Control: retitle -1 notify maintainers of affected bugs; possibly require it for orphaned bugs or wnpp bugs Control: severity -1 wishlist It's a missing feature, because there's no way to automatically notify someone else who is not the maintainer. Presumably, the way to do this is to use affects in orphan bugs, and also have maintainers of affected packages receive messages about bugs which affect their packages. But that's an additional set of code which has not been written.
