Dear Maintainer,
I wanted to use plymouth, installed it through aptitude on Jessy - doesn't work.
I am using proprietary NVidia drivers, so I applied most common solutions from web. Debian wiki describes use with Nouveau, but thanks to it I changed some GRUB config. Didn't work. Then I tried this - http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=60019 - no effect, only text. Then I tried startupmanager that somewhat gave some effect - there was some rectangles during startup, but I couldn't change anything. After that I noticed that I had't installed v86d (uvesafb), so I did and updated both GRUB and initramfs. So I had uvesafb error telling me it couldn't allocate memory and second error telling me plymouth was disconnected from boot status daemon. I fixed the first one by simply adding "video=efifb:off" in grub (it was occupying memory that uvesafb wanted). Now I have 1 error and I completely don't know what to do. I have some plymouth-styled messages on shutdown, but nothing more despite the error. Even plymouth theme preview doesn't work - it shows black screen but it is not being
refreshed, so I just need to change something in that place on the screen.
