Output sent to a printer ignores the stapling option specified in the printer properties. I am sure this functionality
used to work up to a couple of weeks ago but then just stopped. Other apps (e.g. Libre Office) can staple OK implying it is not a problem with the
printer.

Can you test this with other GTK2 applications that use the GTK print
dialog? (Currently unsure what applications this could be in Debian
jessie, though).

The issue may be caused by atril, but I don't think so. I'd rather
guess that this happened due to a change in some underlying (print
(dialog)) library (but just guessing).
