trying to build a simple application using:

valac --pkg caribou-1.0

I get this error:

error: Package `libxklavier' not found in specified Vala API directories or GObject-Introspection GIR directories


I guess you should install vapi/libxklavier.vapi in /usr/share/vala/vapi/

For proper version tracking it would also be better if you use the
Debian versions, not the Ubuntu version of the package.
