Dear Maintainer,

I ran the usual apt-get update && apt-get upgrade.  This pulled in new packages for
the intel X11 driver.  After restarting, I noticed that the XV extension no longer
worked when using mplayer.  Subsequent investigation showed that the intel driver
now reports it detected a hung GPU and has disabled acceleration as a consequence.

I am not sure whether the underlying problem lies with the intel driver itself or
the DRM driver: both were updated at the same time.  For reference, here are the
installed versions of both

The X11 log file says "When reporting this, please include
/sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state and the full dmesg."  I will include
these as attachments.

This report is superficially similar to #692092, but I cannot say if that
report has the same cause.

Please file a bug report upstream against the intel DDX driver
(following the instructions at [1]).
