Jessie installer (in debian-8.0.0-amd64-netinst.iso) fails on Acer C720.
After selecting Install, screen goes blank and Jessie installer gets
restarted by Seabios.  This has been reported by another user on this
thread:

but no reason or fix has been given.

As workaround, I have had to use Wheezy installer and then upgrade to
Jessie.  I have also tried some recent Ubuntu installers and they work
fine on Acer C720.

I can confirm this problem on an Acer C720P as well.

FWIW, there is also a bug opened against Fedora for this:

I still have to investigate the culprit here.

Booting the testing snapshot also works, which suggests that the bug has
already been fixed.

This bug is a duplicate of #780765

If isolinux/ldlinux.c32 in the debian-8.1.0-amd64-netinst.iso image is
replaced with the version from syslinux-common 3:6.03+dfsg-7 (the
version currently in testing), the resulting image boots fine on my c720.

Not sure if this could be considered for a future point release?

I have an Acer C720P.

When I tried the amd64 installer via USB and it just rebooted the BIOS.
I was able to run the i386 installer, pull amd64 kernel image and boot
it from the built in flash drive. The johnlewis.ie FAQs say try another
distro or mem=some_value. The i386 Debian userland is now running fine.

I had installed John Lewis' option:

I used debian-8.1.0-amd64-i386-netinst.iso installer from HD media.
The mbr-syslinux HD media image I made had both the amd64 and i386
versions of vmlinuz and initrd.gz in an MeS-DoS volume. I renamed the
i386 versions vmlinuz32 initrd32.gz. I booted those looked for the ISO
and it worked.

Had SeaBIOS-mbr-syslinux and something went wrong with amd64 USB boot.

I also tried flashing the amd64 boot.img.gz to whole USB device and it
also did not work.

Just an update that as of the release of 8.2, the installer works fine on
my c720 due to syslinux 3:6.03+dfsg-5+deb8u1 now being part of jessie.

I suspect that unless the initial reporter is still having problems, that
this bug can now be closed.
