Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

Dear Maintainer. After opgrading from oldstable to stable on two machines, kmail is not able to search anymore.

I get the messages that my mailfolders are not indexed yes.

I've done some googleing, but still I cannot figure out the problem.

Apparently virtuoso is not being used anymore, thanks god! That was a ressource eater.

People who had the same problem, used to remove and re-add the akonadi nepomuk feeder service from the akonadi console.

I can't find such a service in my akonadi console. So I'm not sure if I miss some packet which should be insalled on both
my machines of if I accidently disabled the service somewhere.

Hello

Ok, I kind of figured out, that the akonadi search service has been replaced
by the baloo search service, which is not automaticly being installed.

Mit freundlichen Grüssen

I stumbled upon the same today.
Searching is a base functionality in my opinion.
Kmail should to it's very best to ensure that it is working,
and if search does not work, it MUST provide information why that is.

Instead of *demanding* things, you could implement it yourself or pay someone
to do it for you.
The code is available.

I took a look into the code today and saw that Kmail2 is handing over the
search to Akonandi, which is the place where it would IMHO be too much
work for someone with no prior experience with this system just to get
aquainted with it than it's worth to fix this.

I attached the information Akonadi debugger yielded, maybe it's a help
to someone.

PS: I want to mention that I had lots of trouble with Kmail, including the bug
when migrating lots of Pop3 email when Jessie was the new testing and
then again when Jessie was the new stable. This made me leave Kmail
after many years and I went back because the others didn't have the
features I wanted - including a working search. I'm having the bug of
duplicated mail due to the filters (with the workaround of a delaying filter)
and now... one of the reasons why I came back to kmail stopped working.
*sigh*
