I request an adopter for the fbreader package, since I don't use it
actively anymore.

The package description is:

I extensively use this app on both my Android phone and linux machine,
so happy to contribute. However, my I'm very new to the debian
eco-system, so can you guide me about basic things like how am I
supposed to build this app. Though my knowledge of C/C++ is limited, I'm
familiar with GMAKE, CMAKE, etc. I use /apt-get/ regularly, but don't
know about detailed DEB specs.

And what all tools am I going to need? Also, I'm personally running
Ubuntu 14.04, please let me know if I have to install only Debian in
order to contribute?

If you are still (or someone is) interested in adopting the package and the previous attempt (five years ago) was simply unresolved due to lack of response from the maintainer as it seems to be, now may be a good time for an ITA considering the deletion of the package in testing (now two months ago) due to ftbfs with GCC-11 https://tracker.debian.org/news/1270837/fbreader-removed-from-testing/

O 	If you are going to adopt a package, retitle its bug to replace "O" with "ITA", in order for other people to know the package is being adopted and to prevent its automatic removal from the archive, and set yourself as the owner of the bug. To actually adopt the package, upload it with your name in its Maintainer: field, and put something like * New maintainer (Closes: #bugnumber) in the changelog of the package in order to automatically close this bug once the package has been installed; where bugnumber has to be replaced with the corresponding bugreport number. Furthermore, before you actually upload a new package with you as the maintainer, you should check if there is a new upstream release and you should try to fix the outstanding bugs.

ago, it not free software, not even open source anymore.
