Pattern unknown. An iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.1.6 stopped mounting. That is it
no longer appears in the file manager Files.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

No workaround found. Running lsusb reports:

However the photo manager app Shotwell is able to see the device and import
