#816119 testdisk: include qphotorec

Dear Maintainer,

It will be interesting include qphotorec in the package.

Cause photorec is a command line tool, qphotorec will be useful for new users
who are not familiarized with the command line.

Thanks. ;)

Dear Maintainers,

I second the idea to include QPhotoRec. In fact, PhotoRec has a CUI.
However, GUI seems to be more efficient (CUI is just mimicking what we
want for GUI).

Best wishes,

Frank

This bug report is already 4 years old :-/ Any chance that this is
going to be implemented? Many rescue-live cd's are based on debian
and a GUI would cause less headaches for those folks that are
desperate to save a borked system.

The only reason the Qphotorec GUI is not built with the current bullseye
7.1-5 testdisk packaging is that the necessary Qt libraries:

qtbase5-dev and qttools5-dev-tools

are not listed as Build-Depends.  Adding them to the control file and
building results in the testdisk package which includes the qphotorec
binary and desktop file.

Hi Jean-Michel,

I have NMUed testdisk to delayed=10. For your convenience I pushed all
changes to Salsa at

https://salsa.debian.org/debian/testdisk

Please let me know if I should cancel the upload.

Kind regards
    Andreas.

Hi Andreas,

Thank you for your help, but this change wants to install 32 new packages (289MB) because I don't have/use any GUI on my computer.

Is it possible to split qphotorec in a separate package (testdisk-qt5 or something similar)?

Would you need a separate bug for this?

Thanks in advance,
Marko Stanković
