Today I installed foxtrotgps to analyce some GPX tracks.

I tried to use the mouse menu:
 * right-click
 * route planification
 * load route from GPX

(I used it in spanish, so I'm not sure if these options have this english translations).

I select my GPX file in my system, and then nothing happens.

I would expect something to happen:
 * an error message (if there was an error)
 * my route showing up in the map

I looked into the code. I *think* the menu is used to load GPX files
with a route and the button on the right ("Load"-Button) loads a track.

I do have a gpx file with a track. The "load route"-Button is not
working, but the "Load"-Button is working.

Unfortunately, I do not have a route-file. What I did, I used a gpx file
with tracks and replaced it via "%s/trk/rte/g". Now, the menu-Button is
loading a "route".

I'm not a GPX expert, but maybe this is not a bug. Improvement could
be to display a warning, when the file doesn't provide a route.

I wouldn't bother looking at the FoxtrotGPS codebase, since it is GTK2
and there aren't any volunteers to fix that, it is likely to be removed
from Debian within the trixie release cycle. There is a WIP branch to
port it to GTK3 (which is already obsolete) but no-one with the time,
skills and motivation to work on and finish the port. There are also
much better map apps now, so it would be best to switch to them.
