font, which is currently installed by the fonts-lao package, is ancient.
A more recent and complete option is available at
<http://www.phetsarath.gov.la/download.php>. It would be great if
fonts-lao could be updated to install the Phetsarath OT.ttf file from
there instead.

The license seems to be ok (SIL OFL, embedded in the .ttf), and I have
made a quick-and-dirty upload to Ubuntu:
