* What led up to the situation?
security upgrade from 45.9.0esr-1~deb8u1 to 52.2.0esr-1~deb8u1
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
Launched Firefox : opens default profile. Opened a new profile from the default
profile window. The new window-profile can't be used : no browsing, installed
extensions unavailable, stored bookmarks unvisible…
* What was the outcome of this action?
Opened a new browser window but uneffective
* What outcome did you expect instead?
An effective browser window with all the settings, bookmarks en plugins tied to
this profile.
Downgrading to firefox-esr: 45.9.0esr-1~deb8u1 restores everything : no profile
data is lost running 52.2.0esr-1~deb8u1 though it can't use this date (except
for default profile).
Confirmed - forcing people to create a mozilla account to migrate to a new version is not the Debian way. This is actually a serious bug.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Karl Schmidt EMail karl@lrak.net 3209 West 9th Street Ph (785) 979-8397 Lawrence, KS 66049--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
