Dear Maintainer, Under GNOME (Wayland), running i3lock works okay until you hit the MENU key (the one that shows all the windows spread out and small, but with all their glorious content clearly visible albeit dinky) at which point one can look at what's displayed in the windows, or kill a window, or even pull down a menu and pick something naughty. Cheers, Barak A. Pearlmutter http://barak.pearlmutter.net Debian Release: 9.0 Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Gnome: 1:3.22+3
On first glance, this sounds like an issue with XWayland, so possibly this issue needs to be re-assigned. Note that i3lock is not tested under Wayland at all, and won’t be for the foreseeable future. Please use a screenlocker for Wayland instead.
compositer proper. Maybe there is an easy way to do this that X11 locking apps could tickle; I know "xdg-screensaver lock" somehow manages, perhaps the code could be broken out from there. But the current situation could lead to users *thinking* their screen is locked securely when it isn't really, so even some stopgap measure might, I think, be reasonable to consider.
Pull requests or hints in an upstream issue (at https://github.com/i3/i3lock) to improve the situation are very welcome :).
