The perl 2.26 binNMU FTBFS on s390x due to a hang running the tests: https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=libimage-sane-perl&arch=s390x&ver=0.14-1%2Bb1&stamp=1500731374&raw=0 ... dh_auto_test -a make -j1 test TEST_VERBOSE=1 make[1]: Entering directory '/<<PKGBUILDDIR>>' "/usr/bin/perl" -MExtUtils::Command::MM -e 'cp_nonempty' -- Sane.bs blib/arch/auto/Image/Sane/Sane.bs 644 PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 "/usr/bin/perl" "-MExtUtils::Command::MM" "-MTest::Harness" "-e" "undef *Test::Harness::Switches; test_harness(1, 'blib/lib', 'blib/arch')" t/*.t t/1_init.t ............. 1..1 ok 1 - get_version as init ok E: Build killed with signal TERM after 150 minutes of inactivity
Control: tag -1 + unreproducible FWIW, the package builds fine for me on zelenka in the s390x-sid chroot. I suggest a downgrade and a giveback. Cheers, gregor

Keeping the bug open in case this bites us again but adjusting the metadata. Cheers, gregor
retitle 869318 libimage-sane-perl: FTBFS randomly: build hangs during tests tags 869318 - unreproducible thanks Greetings. I can reproduce the random nature of this bug on START1-S instances from Scaleway (amd64). The failure rate is around 25% here. I've put a bunch of build logs here: https://people.debian.org/~sanvila/build-logs/libimage-sane-perl/ (Note: Those logs use eatmydata, but I've also checked that it fails in a normal way, i.e. without eatmydata). If you need a test machine to reproduce the randomness, please contact me privately and I will gladly provide ssh access. I'm retitling the bug because it is not really architecture specific. My theory is that it's a race condition which happens easily on machines with 2 CPUs (and maybe also slower than average). Note: I know START1-S instances are discontinued but in either case the bug is in the package, not in the instances. I will try to check on the new DEV1-S instances (those also have 2 CPUs and 2 GB of RAM). Thanks.
Control: severity -1 serious Control: tags -1 sid forky It now failed 4 times in a row on loong64: https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=libimage-sane-perl&arch=loong64&ver=5-2%2Bb2&stamp=1784959041&raw=0 Raising the severity back to serious. Cheers

.
* Team upload.
* Skip t/81_scanimage-perl.t during build and autopkgtests.
This test calls `scanimage` and tends to time out. (Closes: #869318)
* Drop test dependency on sane-utils.
Needed only for the skipped t/81_scanimage-perl.t.
* Also skip t/options.t. It tries to access the network.
* Declare compliance with Debian Policy 4.7.4.
* Remove «Rules-Requires-Root: no», which is the current default.
* Remove «Priority: optional», which is the current default.
