My main problem with JabRef is gone. I can insert 日本語 without a
problem.

But "Anki" (current upstream and official-deb-repository version) still
does not work. Do not understand why. Maybe this is a app specific
problem.

There is a general Qt problem which is about to be fixed. Exactly which
ibus version are you using currently?
