Hi,

I'm looking for co-maintainers for the swi-prolog package, which is a
Prolog interpreter, written in C (core) and Prolog itself (most of its
libraries). SWI-Prolog is still under active development, especially
compared to other Prolog implementations (most of which are stalled
nowadays).

There is a kind of infrastructure built around it, which includes
additional libraries [libraries] (shipped as packages, currently 233
additional packages total) and some related tools and projects (e. g.,
swish [swish], which is a web-interface for Prolog development). As far
as I know Debian does not contain anything of it besides SWI-Prolog
itself. So, ideally I'd like it (the swi-prolog package and other
prospective packages from SWI-Prolog infrastructure) to be
team-maintained. Of course, currently such team do not exist, but in
case there are volunteers to help with, let's just start it.

Please, share your thoughts and ideas.

I've just accidentally opened this bug report (RFH for SWI-Prolog) and
found your message. There's a feature of Debian bug tracking systems: it
sends messages to a given package maintainer, and since the bug report
is filled for the wnpp virtual package and I'm not its maintainer (and I
was not explicitely CCed), I did not received your message.

Sorry for being so unresponsible! I should have checked the bug report
regularly or subscribe to it explicitely.

If you're still interested in helping with SWI-Prolog packaging fro
Debian, please, get in touch. And thank you for you kind willingness to

yes, there is still an interest in help with swi-prolog in Debian.

What do you plan to do? If you're not quite sure for now, you can start
by triaging bugs reported to Debian BTS. But honestly, there are not so
much of them.

Additionally, I was able to get SWIPL to build reproducibly when I
packaged it for GNU Guix (where I also maintain SWIPL), and was wanting
to be able to do the same for Debian.
