Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
Tried to create a shortcut to `verve-focus`, running the shortcut caused the not-found error. I then realized, that verve-focus was missing from this version.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
Tried to use older version (1.x) instead. This works, however xfce4-goodies has dependencies with xfce4-verve-plugin, so I have to either live without xfce4-goodies or without verve command line.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
Given up on new version of verve-plugin
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Should be possible to go back to v. 1.x, which worked perfectly.

Hi Adrian,

I'm unsure why you think this bug is release critical, and there is no content
in your mail which help. I disagree with this, so I'm lowering the severity
again, but feel free to comment on this.

Hi Gerhard, sorry for the delay, somehow the bug was never sent to our mailing
list.

verve-focus has indeed been dropped from the package following the GTK3
rewrite. Here are the upstream developer words from the release mail:
---- verve-focus has been dropped, because I don't have the knowledge or time necessary to maintain it. If you can get it working, let me know. ---- If it's really useful for you, I can forward the bug on the Xfce bugzilla to let the developer know there are end-users missing the feature, but unless you're able to provide a patch there's not much to be done. I'm not quite sure what your issue is with xfce4-goodies dependencies so feel free to elaborate on that. Regards, -- Yves-Alexis

The bug read as if this package is currently useless.

Which made the severity appear too low, we have a frequent problem that
people submit bug reports that should be release critical only as
important.

If the package is not actually currently useless,
then it is correct that you lowered the severity again.

Adrian

Yeah, the bug title was wrong, I've corrected that now.

I'm not really aware of that trend, to be honest. In any case, it'd help to
justify severity changes.

It's indeed not useless, verve-focus only helps by providing a way to have a
shortcut for focusing the text entry.

Dear Maintainer,

* What led up to the situation?

Updating to Debian 10.

* What was the outcome of this action?

The shortcut to verve stopped working.
Now, there is no means to start a program from the keyboard
(at least via the xfce4-verve-plugin).

This makes the package useless for me.

* What outcome did you expect instead?

An update without loosing functionality, or at least a prominent warning.
