a simple bridge between IRC, XMPP, Gitter, Mattermost, Slack, Discord,
Telegram, Rocket.Chat, Hipchat(via xmpp), Matrix, Steam, ssh-chat and
Zulip Has a REST API.

As far as I know there are no other similar tools inside Debian with
support for such a list of systems.

Packaging this would help people work around the issues caused by
https://xkcd.com/1810/ (proliferation of incompatible chat systems).

To package it, quite a few go dependencies would need to be packaged,
listed at https://github.com/42wim/matterbridge#thanks

I think that pkg-go would be the right place to maintain the libraries,
and either that or pkg-xmpp may be interested in the package itself.

I am also very interested in having the package in Debian. It works well
and does indeed solve the famous XKCD IRC conundrum!
