Hi!

It seems the 2018 version of the iwlwifi firmware correlates with the
wifi trouble I'm experiencing. After downgrading to 20161130-3 it
seems fine again and the firmware upgrade on that machine seems to
correspond with the upgrade of the firmware package.

Trouble:

 - After connecting to a WIFI and some time (seems to take longer on
   the managed cisco APs in eduroam than on Fritz!Box networks for
   example)

 - The wifi disconnects and dmesg has an oops (log attached)

 - After that (but well, kernel oopsed by then) suspend fails and the
   system becomes "funny"

I've tested most other things I guess and e.g. kernel version seems
completely unrelated but iwlwifi firmware version seems to be higly
correlated.

FWIW system is a Lenovo Thinkpad T470s

In dmesg, I have lots of warnings and then the wifi disconnects.
Reloading the module does not fix the problem. The only possible fix I
found is to reboot.

And neither did this.

Which is becuase this isn't a log from a 4th gen.  You have a 5th gen
X1.  Not that I think it matters, since you got the 8265 right.  But
still.  Best to have correct info in the bug report.

Dear Maintainer,

This problem continues for me with the most recent firmware-linux
package on a pristine install of Debian 12.6 (installed fresh from DVD
last night).  It happens with my Intel 7260 a handful of seconds after
boot every time.  The timing isn't predictable but it is very soon after
successfully authenticating to the AP (WPA2/PSK) and sending a bit of
traffic (eg. starting up a web browser and attempting to visit any
website).
