I recently installed Debian 9.5.0 on a Dell Latitude E5400. The
following error now occurs:

When I press the moon key or close the lid to suspend the laptop and
later press the power key or open the lid in order to make the laptop
resume, the screen will be black. This only happens within a LXDE
session; at the LXDM login screen or within an IceWM session, suspend
and resume work normally.

When the error occurs, switching to another TTY works perfectly.
Switching back to TTY 7 (the X session) still shows a black screen. When
X is killed and restarted, the screen is normal again, but this is not a
solution.

The problem did not occur in an older Debian installation on the same
laptop.

Thanks in advance for any advice. :-)

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

I've found out that both packages "light-locker" and "xscreensaver"
were installed (automaticaly, I didn't installed them manually).
     I purged xscreensaver

   * What was the outcome of this action?

The problem is solved for me.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

I'm curious to know why both packages were installed by default ??
     They seem to conflict.
