abcde works fine for multi track CDs. If they are not in the database, I need to provide the disc information manually. Now I have a single track CD where abcde consistently (even after ejecting the CD multiple times and rebooting) reports: Executing customizable pre-read function... done. Getting CD track info... Insufficient or missing discinfo data. [ERROR] abcde: abcde-musicbrainz-tool failed to run; ABORT If I use a different tool, e.g. goobox, I need to manually provide the disc information but otherwise the track is extracted just fine. So obviously if abcde cannto determine the discinfo it should just ask for it even in the single track case.
tags 907852 + patch forwarded 907852 https://github.com/glanois/abcde/issues/3 thanks By private e-mail, I received the follwing information: <snip> Hi - I ran into this same problem myself yesterday - https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=907852 I diagnosed and fixed the problem. See https://github.com/glanois/abcde/issues/3 I located a bug report for this in the abcde Bugzilla - https://abcde.einval.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=100 I added a comment there. <snip/> Greetings Helge
Dear Maintainer, the bug is still present, six years after it has been reported and a patch with the fix provided. Granted, changing locally the perl script is trivial, there is no need, for example, to recompile the application. As far as I see, the last commit in abcde has been made in 2021, so for the foreseeable future, there will be no new release upstream. Would it make sense to incorporate the patch in Debian by default?
