1) Movements of my mouse cursor is not smooth. The cursor often sticks
for a half second and then jumps to the correct position.

The problem happens when I hold the mouse still for >5 seconds followed
by a movement over any GUI element that reacts with any visual effect.
When I constantly move the mouse, then the problem does not occur.

Related "visual effects" are for example color change of text, emphasis
of buttons, scrolling of window content, change of cursor shape.

The USB mouse is affected as well as the touch pad of my laptop. Using
another mouse, disconnecting the mouse or disabling the touch pad
does not make any difference. I also tried to change my CPU speed
governor from "powersave" to "performance" but that also did not help.

All programs are affected.

2) In addition I noticed that video playback (e.g. on youtube.com)
often starts with 1 second of jerking image and sound.

3) When I create screenshot by pressing the Print key, the screen
sometimes freezes and shows about 50% of all pixels across the whole
surface with random data (noise).

Disabling Wayland in /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf solves all 3 problems.

I wrote 3 issues in one ticket because I assume that they are related.
If not then please lets concentrate on the first issue with the mouse
cursor because that is more important to me.

My laptop is a HP Omen with 8 cores, 8GB RAM, SSD and an Intel graphic
chip plus an additional nvidia GPU. However I did not install the
Nvidia driver because I am not interested in the 3D acceleration.

This typo --' however cannot be fixed :-)

I'm not sure if not occuring on 1.16.0-1 is good enough to close this
bug, so for now I only mark as fixed in that version.

Best regards
Uwe

Dear Maintainer,

I am not sure, if it is related. On my system the mouse cursor fully disappears after a visual effect (i.e. exploding windowin plasma), but I also noticed a disappearing mouse cursor in XFCE (no effects activated).

For me, it looks like the mouse driver is completely stopped, as both mice do not work any more than, neither touchpad nor the external mouse. I could not find any entries in the log related to this issue.

The external mouse can be recovered by removing and putting back the usb-dongle for the mouse.

This is of course not possible with the built in touchpad.

Resarting X let both mice appear again.

With xorg (X11), everything is working fine.

Hope this helps.

Best regards

Hans
