When appmenu-gtk2-module is installed, and .gtkrc-2.0 includes the line

gtk-modules=appmenu-gtk-module

any invocation of xpra start will segfault (tested under KDE environment, I did
not test a native gnome setup). This is a "silent" failure, without any
meaningful error messages in the log. The nearest responsible line in
the python code is xpra/x11/gtk2/wm.py:268 , in a call to gtk.Window.show_all .

The bug may very well be in gtk2 , the gtk2 python bindings, or appmenu-gtk2-module,
but I can only confirm its existence in xpra. Please reassign this as necessary.
