Flutter is a UI toolkit primarily for mobile platforms, with support for web
and desktop applications underway.

It is currently possible to install the Flutter SDK on Debian via a binary
download. Naturally a native package would be preferable :)

Hey,

any news or work in progress on that? There are currently some programs
which would depend (in newer versions) on flutter.

(e.g. yubioauth-desktop)

I am taking this RFP over, so please read it as an ITP from now on.

Flutter is the UI toolkit underneath a number of packages that have been
requested for Debian, two of which are stuck on this one: localsend
(#1106118) and yubioath-flutter (#1034701).

Why now and not in 2019: the Dart toolchain is finally nearly in the
archive.  dart-sdk 3.13.4+dfsg1-1 (#1140414) is in NEW, and upstream's
release manifest lists dart_sdk_version 3.13.4 for flutter 3.47.5 -- the
exact same Dart release.  So the SDK can be built against Debian's
dart-sdk instead of shipping its own copy.

Order of work, no dates promised: dart-sdk first (in progress), then the
engine, then this SDK, then the applications sitting on top of it.

If somebody is already working on any part of this, please say so now
and we will split the work instead of duplicating it.
