mate-desktop on debian buster

here flameshot starts but stalls after drawing a selection on the screen
and then choosing 'copy' .

if I can update to this, a test was done on another desktop(same
machine), so perhaps something is not properly set correctly in the mate
desktop environment. I cannot figure it out, so if anyone knows they can
give a hint.

Not sure if it is just my desktop with mate on it, but flameshot was
working previously on this same machine prior the upgrade.

Heya,

This bug is for a really old version. Could you test against 14.0.0 and
see if things work for you now?

There seem to be multiple copy-to-clipboard issues upstream and some of
them have been resolved. If this is still present in v14 for you, please
include the following information:

 - What window manager and/or desktop environment you're on
 - X11 or Wayland
 - Which xdg-desktop-portal packages you have installed and running
 - What happens in v14 when you copy to clipboard
