Dear Maintainer,

the recent upgrade to version 4:5.14.5.1-2 seems to break the plasma
panel. The system tray is not shown any more and a right click on the
panel does not open the context menu. Widgets are shown (application
launcher, pager, task manager, weather, clocks in my case) but also do
not react to right clicks.
Downgrading to 4:5.14.5.1-1 from buster solves the issue.

Regards,
Soenke

This is to confirm that the problem is reproducible on Bullseye x86_64.
The bug appeared on two of my computers after upgrading.
As Soenke described downgrading to the Buster package fixes it.

I am also experiencing this issue. This issue also affects searching for
applications using the Application Dashboard widget. Downgrading to
5.14.5.1-1 resolves the System Tray widget disappearing and the
Application Dashboard application search.

Good morning everyone,

I did an upgrade this morning and it pulled in a bunch of plasma
framework packages:

libkf5kcmutils-data:all 5.62.0-1
libfontembed1:amd64 1.25.6-1
libkf5calendarevents5:amd64 5.62.0-1
libkf5plasma5:amd64 5.62.0-1
libkf5declarative-data:all 5.62.0-1
libkf5runner5:amd64 5.62.0-1

libkf5quickaddons5:amd64 5.62.0-1
qml-module-org-kde-kwindowsystem:amd64 5.62.0-1
qml-module-org-kde-kconfig:amd64 5.62.0-1
libkf5plasmaquick5:amd64 5.62.0-1
libkf5kcmutils5:amd64 5.62.0-1
kwayland-integration:amd64 5.14.5-2
qml-module-org-kde-runnermodel:amd64 5.62.0-1
qml-module-org-kde-kcm:amd64 5.62.0-1
kpackagelauncherqml:amd64 5.62.0-1
qml-module-org-kde-kquickcontrols:amd64 5.62.0-1
qml-module-org-kde-kquickcontrolsaddons:amd64 5.62.0-1
qml-module-org-kde-kcoreaddons:amd64 5.62.0-1
qml-module-org-kde-kio:amd64 5.62.0-1
qml-module-org-kde-draganddrop:amd64 5.62.0-1
plasma-framework:amd64 5.62.0-1

After this, the panel works normally again. So maybe it is a dependency
issue somewhere?

Soenke

Hello all,

I concur with Soenke. After upgrading recently, this bug no longer
exists in version 4:5.14.5.1-3 on testing. It seems like it was a
dependency problem after all.

Sincerely,
Jonathan

I have a system I just upgraded to Debian/Testing which has this problem. The
System Tray widget is not available. I've attached a screen-shot of trying to
add widgets on 2 systems the one on the right (light color scheme) has the
problem, the one on the left (dark color scheme) doesn't. I couldn't find any
difference in installed packages that explains this.
