Dear Maintainer,

I have just installed Debian Buster x86 on an Intel NUC5CPYH device
(Intel Celeron N3050 with "Intel HD Graphics for Intel Celeron Processor
N3000 Series", citing ark.intel.com). Installation includes lightdm and
the Mate desktop environment. Under both of them I'm getting screen
corruption: parts of the screen are not refreshed/painted correctly,
often just showing black areas; some parts of the screen are shifted.
Others might display fine. The screen periodically repaints itself with
a different set of corruptions. Rarely, repainting brings the while
image mostly correct, making it possible to see that input is received
correctly.

I've found a question describing a similar problem at [1], suggesting
that this is specific to x86 and doesn't show up on amd64. I'll try that
later.

…and it seems indeed that this is true. The same exact installation
procedure, but with amd64 medium, resulted in correctly working graphics.
