Dear Maintainer,

After an upgrade of my debian unstable computer, my HP LaserJet CP
1025 printer stopped working, and jobs hanged in the queue without
being sent to the printer. Then I tried to reinstall the printer by
  running:

     hp-setup -i -a -x

  but I got the error:

No device selected/specified or that supports this functionality

  Running hp-check gives the error:

     Unsupported model: HP_LaserJet_CP_1025

  Thanks!

1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling
the HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper
dependencies are installed to
successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies
installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

Jose and user2304,

Thank you for your reports. As you will see, I have forwarded them
upstream.

One possible fix is to edit /usr/share/hplip/data/models/ and alter
[hp_laserjet_cp1025] to [hp_laserjet_cp_1025].

Regards,

Brian.

Dear Maintainer,

just a quick note, after dist-upgrading my testing-system, version of hplip
changed to 3.21.2.

File /usr/share/hplip/data/models/models.dat is changed back to wrong model-
name "[hp_laserjet_cp1025]" instead of "[hp_laserjet_cp_1025]".

That's normal; files in /usr/share are not dpkg conffiles, and local
modifications will get overwritten.

Sorry, but this change won't make it in Debian bullseye; modifying upstream
data files for such bugs is too risky (in that instance; where this looks like
a parsing bug).
