I attempted to record a portion of my (wayland) desktop this morning (mp4), and
found on playback that the video was just black except for the mouse pointer.

Dear Maintainer,

Encountered this same issue on my side too.

However, if I change peek's backend to gnome-shell from command line,
recording is just fine.

ffmpeg could be the main issue.
