Dear QA team,

When asked about [manpages-fr], tracker.d.o displays information about an
obsolete source package, which was deleted from the archive earlier.

Instead, I would expect it to display information about the current, binary
package manpages-fr, whose source package is [manpages-l10n].

[manpages-fr]: https://tracker.debian.org/manpages-fr
[manpages-l10n]: https://tracker.debian.org/manpages-l10n

This is a situation where tracker.d.o displays rather-misleading information,
and I suspect this isn't the only affected package.

Best,

  nicoo

remember that tracker is source-based, plus anything that tries to tie a
binary to a source is prone to errors. remember all those cases about a
binary built by different sources across architectures, for example.

Either way, I request and obtained some years ago that distro-tracker
supports package lookup prefixed with src: or bin:. so for example you
could:
http://tracker.debian.org/bin:manpages-fr
and that redirects to manapges-l10n.

I would honestly oppose "hiding" and old source package just becuase its
binary was carried over to some other source. I do happen to need to
look up old sources every so often.

I think that makes this a wontfix bug, any further thoughts?
