Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

$ jupyter qtconsole

   * What was the outcome of this action?

a window sized 200x512 pixels, with the following top menu entries shown:
"File", "Edit", "View", "»"

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

a window with a larger horizontal size, I'd say 800x512 at least.

It seems the the issue has been fixed upstream (see [1,2]).
According to [1] this issue is connected to #971923.

Since the issue is really really annoying I kindly ask to back-port the
fix implemented upstream in [2] which is quite simple.

These two bugs were fixed with the upload of version 5.0.2-1 of
python-qtconsole back in February 2021; I'm sorry I didn't notice at
the time that these bugs were fixed with that upload.

Closing them now.
