Comments/Problems:

Sound input and output don't work. In the gnome sound settings I see only
"dummy output" as output device and no input device.

The cooling fans keep running audibly.

What kernel version is in use? AFAIR, DI alpha 3 is based on Linux 5.9 which
is quite old now.

Did you install firmware-sof-signed from non-free? This is required for some
audio functionality on recent Intel systems.

Cheers,
Vincent

DI alpha 3 is the most recent advertized here:
https://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/

I've installed it now. It does indeed solve the sound issue, thank you very
much.

Cheers,

Bart

Hi,

That's not correct, strictly speaking.
There is also the section with daily builds there, which has
more recent images.

However, you have the latest kernel installed,
which is because when you have Internet access
during installation, all packages get automatically updated
to the latest version.

Good to know! The need for (signed) Intel SOF firmware on some systems should
probably be documented in Bullseye's release notes.

Regarding your fan running noisily, see if installing and tweaking 'thermald'
improves the situation.

Have a good day,
Vincent
