Hi,
I am installing in a VM that has two virtual CD-ROM drives and incidentally put the
Debian CD into the second CD-ROM drive, while the first CD-ROM drive contained a
grml.iso. Debian installation failed at the "Configure the package manager" state with
"apt configuration problem", "an attempt to configure apt to install additional
packages from the media failed".
Removing the virtual CD from the first drive allowed the installation to continue,
but then the install failed again at the "install GRUB" stage because the system
still wasn't able to install grub from the CD.
Configuring a network mirror allowed the installation to finish, allowing me to
file this report. Please consider all errors that are in the logs after the first
"Congfigure the package manager" as follow-up errors that are irrelevant to this
report.
This looks suspiciously like #740537 that was never fixed in the first place.
Please note that the first CD-ROM drive actually needs a disc inserted for
the bug to show, just having the drive present is not enough.
Greetings
Marc
