After upgrade to 89.0~b2-1 (from 1:88.0~b2-1, which worked fine),
thunderbird no longer sends emails, even to local account:
1. after hitting send on the message window I see the spell check run as
always but the email is NOT sent and the message window stays up.

2. nothing is written in /var/log/mail.log or /var/log/mail.info

Recovered only by 1) removing thunderbird, 2) reinstalling version
88.0~b2-1, 3) restoring my default profile from version 88.

None of the test emails was encrypted or signed.

After exiting thunderbird 89 I see the following message printed on the bash window from which it was launched:
~ => thunderbird

###!!! [Parent][RunMessage] Error: Channel closing: too late to send/recv, messages will be lost


However emails are not sent, although the spell check runs but the message window remains open after Send button is pressed.

I had a similar issue. It ended up being an add-on[1]. Once I disabled the add-on, I could send with no problem.
