steps to reproduce:
1. select new  -> campaign
2. move the mouse to select the campaign
vcmi aborts immediately with the following message:

Initializing VCMI_Lib: 313 ms
Screen handler: 8 ms
Main graphics: 103 ms
Message handler: 1 ms
Initialization of VCMI (together): 1126 ms
corrupted double-linked list

it happens on different computers, motherboards and graphic cards.
as a workaround, it is possible to select a campaign opening vcmi in valgrind (very
slow), saving the first day and reopening normally.

Hello!
Is there any chance to see this fix applied anytime soon? (this bug
prevents from playing a big part of the game).
Upstream also has fixes for various (but less critical) things according
to commit logs.
I'll try to be around for doing tests if a new package comes.

Mostly play-testing ;) I'm not into software dev, but I'm okay with some
basic debug.

I'm not familiar at all with CI, the error produced is not very
explicit, it seems vcmiclient was built, but the Makefile fails and I'm
not familiar enough to know how to dig that.

Okay, I fixed the compilation problem and now need somebody for
play-testing because I'm currently on vacation and thus cannot test this
myself.

Can you install vcmi 0.99+dfsg+git20220621.54fab9f0-1 from experimental
and make sure that this bug is fixed in that version as I expect?

If you have more time on your hand and want to help out more, you could
also try to see if the following two things are still problems:

1. run `vcmibuilder --gog` and see if that produces a problem, this is

2. download the savegame from this bug
