Dear Maintainer,
At night I power off my 3 external monitors. Next morning, I turn
them on, and press a key to bring laptop out of dpms. This worked
fine with buster, but after the upgrade to bullseye I often (>75%)
don't get any video at all. I use ctrl+alt+f1 to shift to a
virtual terminal then ctrl+alt+f7, then I have been getting
video on 1 of my monitors. The other 2 monitors are disabled.
Here is a working vs non-working output from xrandr (note the
missing "*' on DP-0 and DP-1 in the 2nd output):

I tried `xrandr --output DP-0 --off` follow by
`xrandr --output DP-0 --auto` but it did not enable the monitors.
I don't see any errors in dmesg, syslog or Xorg.0.log that seem to
correspond to the issue. Losing my session, of course, but
`systemctl restart lightdm` fully restores service.
Today, I found that I enable the two screens via the
nvidia-settings app where the two displays are enabled. It
restores xrandr but my i3 config for screens is not happy to still
end up logging out and back in.
Happy to try things or provide additional data.
