According to <URL: https://appstream.debian.org/sid/main/issues/gpsd-clients.html >, the icon setting in the desktop files point to /usr/local/share/gpsd/icons/gpsd-logo.png. The problematic file is in packaging/X11/xgps.desktop and packaging/X11/xgpsspeed.desktop in the source.
